Luxembourg Transportation

Luxembourg transport has an abundance of transportation options making it easy to get around. An efficient public-transport in luxembourg system boasts of reliable and economical buses and trains. Car rentals, which are reasonably priced, are even further attractive due to good gas prices. Hiring a taxi is another option, though an expensive one or, rent a bike from tourism offices. Want to travel on your own bike, bikes can be transported via train for a nominal fee. For people who love walking around it would be a good, as walking is a popular choice in Luxembourg City.

Luxembourg Transportation is well served with number of flights from the various international airlines. The international airport, Findel, is 6km (4mi) east of the capital and is serviced by frequent bus service. The national airline, Luxair, flies to a number of European destinations, including Amsterdam, Athens and London. Other airlines fly to Cuba, Morocco, Russia, Tenerife and the USA.

The rail transport in luxembourg is served by Eurail, Inter-Rail, even with Euro pass and Flexi pass valid on Luxembourg's train system, as is the Benelux Tour rail pass, which is also good on Luxembourg Railways' bus routes. Buses and trains connect the capital to all of Europe's major cities as well as many neighboring towns and villages.

Luxembourg has an excellent road transportation luxembourg. As in the rest of Europe, country roads can be narrower than expected, but maintenance is excellent. Fuel is cheaper in Luxembourg than in surrounding countries, and considered by some to be the cheapest in Europe. All highways are free in Luxembourg. Seatbelts are a must.
