Hiking: Although small, Luxembourg has an extensive network of marked hiking and walking routes. Sometimes referred to as ‘the green heart of Europe’, almost one third of the country consists of forests. Wine tasting: Wine lovers can look forward to tasting the best wines which are made here. Wine cellars are happy to receive visitors. This is popular in Luxembourg’s main wine-growing region in the southeast, the Moselle. The mild, sunny climate of the Moselle is ideal for wine making. Fishing: While in the country enjoying fishing which is possible only in some selected parts of lakes and rivers throughout the country. Trout is a popular catch. Many country hotels have their own fishing grounds which are open to guests.
